Royal Jordanian...discounted fares

RJ offers discounted fares to attract tourists to Jordan

AMMAN, March 26, 2015

Royal Jordanian (RJ), the national carrier of Jordan, is looking to attract tourists to Jordan by offering discounted tickets from destinations covered by the airline in the Gulf region and Europe.

Acting president/CEO Captain Haitham Misto pointed out that this initiative came in response to His Majesty King Abdullah urging the tourism sector to come up with creative initiatives to promote Jordan, highlighting the diversity and richness of the country’s tourism product.

Captain Misto said that discounted prices are offered to the incoming tour operators bringing tourists to Jordan who will use RJ prices in integrated tourist programmes as a package with accommodation, restaurants, transportation and monument entries, to encourage groups to visit the kingdom.

Misto also highlighted the leading role played by Royal Jordanian in marketing Jordan abroad through its different programmes and sales offices distributed all over the world.

He also said that RJ recently offered Jordan Tourism Board 140 free tickets to invite international media representatives and global TV channels to visit the kingdom and highlight its security and stability, and the diversity of its tourism product during the different seasons, in addition to Royal Jordanian’s role in supporting social media and bloggers that promote Jordan abroad.

Ever since its foundation, Royal Jordanian has constantly participated in various Arab and international tourism fairs along with the Jordan Tourism Board and other tourism sectors, like in the Berlin, Moscow, Dubai, London and Spain fairs, among others, in additions to sponsoring most of the conferences and activities held in Jordan, Misto said.

He also underlined the efforts exerted by the company now, in the context of transit tourism, to encourage Royal Jordanian passengers transiting through Queen Alia International Airport to visit nearby attractions for short periods, thus giving them a taste of Jordan and encouraging them to plan for longer journey in the future.

Misto also highlighted RJ’s role in serving tourism in Aqaba through the many daily flights between Queen Alia Airport and King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba for reasonable fares.

This, and the flexible flight schedules, aims to enhance tourism and the investments in Aqaba Economic Zone, and to suit the tourists’ programmes, thus lending support to Aqaba’s tourism sector. – TradeArabia News Service
