Qatar Airways to fly Doha-Miami daily from November

MIAMI, May 23, 2015

Qatar Airways is set to launch daily flights to the bustling US city of Miami starting from this year amid growing demand from passengers on the sector, said a top official.

"In 2014, we brought our -star hospitality to Miami with five flights a week, but due to growing demand, we are pleased to begin daily operations to Miami, beginning November 18," stated Gunter Saurwein, Qatar Airways VP for The Americas.

He was speaking at a five-star dinner hosted by Qatar Airways at Nikki Beach on Thursday evening to celebrate the first anniversary of the carrier's non-stop service from Miami to the capital Doha.

The Qatari carrier used the evening to celebrate their partnership with South Florida's cruise and marine segment. The event was attended by all the major cruise lines operating from PortMiami, including Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean.

"As our anniversary with Miami approaches, we wanted to thank the cruise and marine specialists who welcomed us to Florida," said Saurwein.

Qatar Airways' Miami to Doha route is the first non-stop service between Miami and the Middle East since 2008.

Through Doha's centralized location and the hitech services of Hamad International Airport, travellers from Miami can reach cities such as Bangkok, Nairobi, Colombo, Jakarta, and Mumbai in an impressive 20 hours or less through a quick transfer in Doha, said Saurwein.

Qatar Airways' Miami to Doha route is operated with a Boeing 777-300ER in a two-class configuration of 42 seats in Business and 293 seats in Economy class.

The flight offers seatback TV screens providing passengers with a next-generation interactive onboard entertainment system and a choice of more than 2,000 on-demand audio and video options.-TradeArabia News Service
