UAE firm eyes Russian tourist market

DUBAI, July 27, 2015

UAE's Alpha Destination Management Company hosted a series of roadshows in Russia in a bid to promote the Gulf region as an all-encompassing tourism destination.

In collboration with Russia's Natalie Tours, the company visited Siberia and Ural to promote Dubai and UAE as a leading tourist desatination.

Russia is among Dubai’s top 10 tourism source markets with the number of weekly flights from to UAE almost tripling in the past two years, reaching 124 flights last year.

The promotional and marketing initiative was held over a 10-day period in eight Russian cities and evoked strong response from the travel trade professionals.

Adnan Aridi, managing director of Alpha DMC, headed the UAE delegation for the roadshows which targeted 100 to 150 travel agents in Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Kazan, Samara and Nizhniy Novgorod.

The participating hotels showcased excellent tourist attractions and best tourism products to attract potential visitors to Dubai and the UAE. The participants were provided excellent opportunity to promote their products offering, meet new potential travel agents and strengthen cooperation.

The roadshows had seen the participation of Al Bustan Centre & Residence, Al Hamra Palace, Anantara The Palm, Atlantis The Palm/Kerzner, Damac Hotels & Resorts and Gloria Hotels & Resorts, among other big players.

“The road shows were designed to further cement our position in this market and to align our vision to continuously promote UAE and Dubai in the Russian and CIS markets and keep the market players enlightened about the widening and improving tourist product offerings,” Aridi said. – TradeArabia News Service
