Dubai hotel occupancy soars 26pc in July

DUBAI, August 18, 2015

Occupancy rates at Dubai’s upscale hotels went up 26.1 per cent in July to 57.6 per cent, according to recent data.

Although a rise in demand (up 32.1 per cent) and supply (up 4.8 per cent) saw occupancy levels increase, it remained below 50 per cent until the end of Ramadan, which ended on July 16, showed reports published by STR Global, a leading source of global hotel data .

Following the conclusion of the holy month, occupancy rates eclipsed 70 per cent.

Average daily rate (ADR) declined 2.9 per cent to Dh614.12 ($167) whereas revenue per available room (RevPAR) shot up 22.4 per cent to Dh353.43 ($96). – TradeArabia News Service
