Denmark-Iran flights to start in March

COPENHAGEN, September 22, 2015

The first flights between Denmark and Iran will begin in March 2016, operated by Iranian airline Mahan Air, ending an eight-year suspension of direct flights between the capitals of the two countries, Copenhagen Airport A/S said on Tuesday.

The announcement comes after Denmark's largest company, drug maker Novo Nordisk said it would invest 70 million euros ($78.13 million) in the country to build a manufacturing plant.

Companies have been looking to do business in Iran, home to more than 77 million consumers, after the Islamic Republic struck a nuclear accord with major powers that is expected to lead to the lifting of sanctions. – Reuters
