OCEC ... centrepiece of Oman's business development programme.

Omran invites bids for HQ construction

MUSCAT, October 21, 2015

Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) has issued tenders for the construction of its headquarters and annexe building at the upcoming business park in the sultanate, said a report.

The new set of tenders are for the construction, completion, handing over, testing and commissioning and maintenance of the Omran headquarters and the annexe building at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).

A landmark project, OCEC is the centrepiece of the sultanate's business development programme and is aimed at establishing the country as a major regional venue for regional and international events.

Currently undergoing construction, the OCEC project is progressing smoothly and on schedule, with a large number of tenders having been awarded successfully last year, reported the Times of Oman.

Omran has also invited tenders for direct sub-contracting for the supply, installation, testing and commission of security, telephone and other advanced systems for OCEC Package Seven - Hotel 2, said the report.

The four-star property hotel is currently under development and requires ICT active infrastructure including IP networks, IP TV, hybrid IP telephone, digital signage and a security system, it added.
