Arab aviation, tourism in focus at Bahrain summit

MANAMA, November 12, 2015

Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed is set to inaugurate a two-day initiative by world-leading organisations committed to improving the state of aviation and tourism sectors in the Arab World.

The annual Arab Aviation and Media Summit 2015 will take place on December 7 and 8 in Bahrain.
The conference will focus on emerging areas such as the untapped potential of Arab aviation and tourism sectors and the way forward amid the current political and economic climate as well as shed light on Bahrain’s travel & Tourism experience.

It will also see industry experts debating and discussing the growing significance of private sector contribution and opening up the sector to increased foreign investments.

“The Arab world’s aviation and tourism sectors are changing rapidly and this platform has enabled industry experts to come together to discuss and debate the significant opportunities and challenges faced by the sector," said Mohammed.

"We highly encourage such discussions and are proud to be the host to this year’s Arab Aviation and Media Summit,” he said.

Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, chief executive officer of Bahrain Airport Company, said: “This year, Bahrain will host eminent industry leaders who will discuss how the sector is well placed for strong and consistent growth which will drive investment, job creation and bilateral trade. We are happy to welcome all the participants and look forward to meeting them in Bahrain.”

Described as the ‘voice of the industry’, the summit is the largest assembly of Arab media together with top executives from the aviation and tourism industry.

It takes place in a different Arab city every year drawing attention to the host city travel and tourism experience as well as facilitating for a large audience of Governments, decision makers and media to share, learn and exchange.

This industry initiative is being supported and endorsed by many world leading organisations such as Airbus Middle East, Air Arabia Group, CFM, Amadeus, Alpha Aviation and CNBC TV; and this year’s edition is being held in partnership with Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Bahrain Airport Company.
