Mattar..'it’s hugely important that we keep abreast of innovation developments'

RAK to unveil new tourism initiatives

RAS AL KHAIMAH, November 26, 2015

Showcasing the best of innovation, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority will be announcing two major initiatives at UAE Innovation Week which will complement the new tourism developments on display.

Taking place till November 28, the event will feature more than 800 ideas and activities throughout the week.

The Ya Hala Ambassador Programme is an initiative where emiratis from Ras Al Khaimah can volunteer to become ambassadors for the emirate. The ambassador programme will be rolled out using a mobile app that can be downloaded for free. The app will allow visitors to Ras Al Khaimah to connect with local ambassadors to experience traditional Emirati hospitality and take advantage of insider tips.

Ras Al Khaimah Novels is the Tourism Development Authority’s project to start a search for people from across the emirate who have authentic stories to tell from their own personal experiences of Ras Al Khaimah – whether it be old traditions passed down through the generations to stories of past tribes etc.

Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said: “Ras Al Khaimah has been experiencing consistent and significant growth in visitors and in order to maintain this interest and demand, it’s hugely important that we keep abreast of innovation developments from technology to digital. As an emirate we are constantly striving for growth and have developed projects and campaigns that show our creative, innovative approach to guest experience. UAE Innovation Week is the ideal platform to showcase these initiatives.”

The event is a consolidated effort by the UAE government, the private sector and individuals to facilitate the UAE’s position as a global innovation hub. – TradeArabia News Service
