InterContinental Bali wins Tri Hita Karana award

Jimbaran, BALI, December 17, 2015

InterContinental Bali Resort won the Tri Hita Karana ‘Platinum’ award, the highest category in Bali’s prestigious Tri Hita Karana Awards.

The award was presented to recognise the InterContinental Bali Resort’s significant achievements in incorporating sustainable spiritual, social and environmental principles and practices into its daily operation.

The Tri Hita Karana Awards were initiated over a decade ago and endorsed by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) in 2004.

The name is derived from the Hindu philosophical principles of ‘Tri Hita Karana’, a fundamental concept in the Balinese community where balance in life is maintained through the harmonious relationship between man and God, man and fellow man, and man and the environment.

InterContinental Bali Resort is committed to the local community through its various community initiatives by supporting Bali Life Foundation and Panti Salam Orphanage over the past few years.

The resort works closely with the Balinese community and actively maintains the surrounding environment by conducting regular beach cleaning activities and more to maintain the surrounding environment.

Michel Chertouh, general manager of InterContinental Bali Resort, said: “We are proud that we can maintain the recognition which was achieved last year. It’s been two consecutive year that InterContinental Bali Resort received a Platinum Award.

"It is indeed a testament to our team’s commitment towards our guests and the community we live in.” - TradeArabia News Service
