Oman Air appoints new GSA for Bahrain

MUSCAT, December 24, 2015

Oman Air, the national carrier of Oman, has appointed Elite Travel as its new general sales agent (GSA) for Bahrain.

The Manama-based company is the largest BSP travel agency in Bahrain, with seven outlets around the country, including at the airport.

Oman Air launched services to Bahrain from Muscat in 2005 and sees the country as a key market within the GCC region. It has significant potential for growth and Elite Travel will provide essential support to increase the airline’s market share.

Oman Air’s chief operating officer, Abdulrahman Bin Harith Al Busaidy, said: “We are delighted to welcome Elite Travel to the Oman Air family. We look forward to working together to offer many more air travellers in the Kingdom of Bahrain the opportunity to enjoy Oman Air’s outstanding passenger experience.”

“As Oman Air continues its current major expansion programme, it is also consolidating its established services. The appointment of Elite Travel as GSA for Bahrain continues this work, ensuring that our international network serves Oman Air, and the people of Oman, with increasing effectiveness.”

“We are confident that Elite Travel’s long history, together with its experience and expertise of meeting the needs of travellers in Bahrain, will deliver very positive results for Oman Air,” he said.

Aziz Gilitwala, Managing Director of Elite Travel, added: “We are pleased and proud to have been appointed as Oman Air’s GSA for Bahrain.”

“The trust our customers place in us has seen us grow into a regional network with seven branches and 12 implant locations in Bahrain, three branches in the UAE, four branches in Saudi Arabia and five GSA offices across the region. We now look forward to putting our undoubted expertise at the disposal of Oman Air.”

Elite Travel was founded in 1981 and enjoys a significant role in the Bahrain travel sector, for both inbound and outbound holiday offerings. Furthermore, it has extensive experience within the corporate travel market, providing reliable and quality travel solutions through a team of highly motivated employees and quality management systems.

In addition to the three daily direct flights between Muscat and Bahrain, Oman Air operates a fourth service via Doha. The airline utilises Embraer 175 and Boeing 737 aircraft on the route. – TradeArabia News Service
