InterContinetal Hotel Group looks to Middle East for future projects

'Sustainable tourism to bolster Gulf hospitality sector', says IHG

DUBAI, January 13, 2016

InterContinental Hotels Group, (IHG), a leading international hotel company, is predicting an increased focus on environmental, social and commercial sustainability standards in the Gulf’s hospitality sector, in particular over the course of 2016.

Pascal Gauvin, COO for India, Middle East and Africa at IHG, said: “In the Middle East, strategic growth has been significant in recent months, with openings including the new InterContinental Dubai Marina, Crowne Plaza Kuwait and Hotel Indigo signings. The boutique brand Hotel Indigo is set to make its debut with the openings of Hotel Indigo Dubai The Sustainable City in 2017 and Hotel Indigo Dubai Business Bay in 2018.”

The announcement follows the unveiling of the group’s 5,000th hotel globally with the opening of the Hotel Indigo Lower East Side in New York today. This outstanding achievement illustrates the strength of IHG’s leading portfolio of brands, which are loved by millions of guests around the world, the group said in a statement. – TradeArabia News Service
