Al Baker...'We are looking forward to leading the industry with our superior
business and economy products'

Qatar Airways to reveal new destinations at ITB Berlin

DOHA, March 2, 2016

Qatar Airways is all set to announce new destinations and reveal a new exhibition stand at this year’s ITB Berlin, a leading travel and trade event, taking place in Germany this month.

Running from March 9 to 13, the event will see Qatar Airways’ stand feature particular elements of Hamad International Airport, the airline’s new home since 2014. Any traveller passing through the airline’s Doha hub benefits from seamless transfers at this modern, state-of-the-art airport, which offers more than 70 shops and boutiques and 30 restaurants, world class lounges, a hotel and spa inside the airport, and sports facilities.

Qatar Airways group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: "The way people travel is changing, and ITB showcases the latest trends and innovations. We are looking forward to leading the industry with our superior business and economy products, and to announcing exciting new destinations for our passengers."

Trade fair visitors will experience Qatar Airways' premium products and customer service for themselves in Hall 22.B, booth 207. The airline's A380 and A350 First Class and Business Class seats will be on display, with visitors invited to put them to the test. The First Class suite is equipped with an extendable, flat bed that is over 2.3 m in length, along with a 26-inch high-definition screen. The Business Class seat extends to 2 metres long to convert into a complete bed and enjoys an entertainment system with a 17-inch high-definition screen.

The new destinations to be announced will add to an already exciting year of inaugurals. Qatar Airways recently started service to Los Angeles on January 1, Ras Al Khaimah on February 2 and Sydney on March 1. The airline will begin service to Boston, US from March 16; Birmingham, UK on March 30; Adelaide, Australia from May 2; Yerevan, Armenia from May 15 and Atlanta, US from June 1.

Qatar Airways will also reveal a completely redesigned exhibition stand. The airline’s latest brand campaign theme ‘Going Places Together’ will be reflected in the redesign and activities, with the focus on bringing travellers closer together. Thus, the airline proposes a fresh, new direction. The ethos presented over the course of this communication strategy reflects the development of Qatar Airways as a brand and its role as a leader in the aerospace industry.

Last year's ITB show featured more than 10,000 exhibitors from over 180 countries, who presented their products and services to around 175,000 visitors. – TradeArabia News Service
