Officials at the Oman stand

Oman to participate in ITB Berlin

MUSCAT, March 7, 2016

Oman’s Ministry of Tourism has announced its participation in this year’s 50th edition of ITB Berlin, a leading travel trade show, which will be held from March 9 in Germany.

The trade show will run for five days until March 13, where the sultanate will be represented by 36 organisations from the tourism sector, including a separate stall for the national carrier Oman Air.

Oman’s delegation will be headed by Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mahrazi, the Minister of Tourism, who will attend the official opening of the exhibition and participate in different activities, along with other international tourism ministers and government entities. He will also attend events with the international tourism organization, UNWTO.

The Ministry of Tourism and the different representations from the sultanate take part of the ITB Berlin show on a yearly basis, as it is considered the biggest trade show in the world. The show gives the opportunity to vendors of the sultanate to showcase the latest tourism developments, as well as learn from the different international developments around the world.

The first three days of ITB will focus on agreements and meetings between international delegations as well as the organizations participating in the trade show while the last two days will host the general public and visitors from around the world. Last year, the show received 175,000 visitors who were exposed to 10,096 participants and exhibitors representing 186 countries. – TradeArabia News Service
