Emirates to receive 80th A380 tomorrow

DUBAI, June 20, 2016

Dubai's Emirates airline, the world’s largest operator of the Airbus A380, will be taking delivery of its 80th A380 on June 21.

This will be followed by the launch of a daily A380 service to Vienna, Emirates’ 41st A380 destination, starting July 1. Emirates has a further 62 A380s pending delivery, of which 21 A380s will be joining the fleet this year.

In another milestone for the Emirates A380 fleet, the Gulf carrier has released the world’s first 360-video tour of the A380 cockpit.

Viewers can now watch Captain Thomas Ziarno from New Zealand and First Officer Abdulrahman Mohamed Al Busaeedi from the UAE give an immersive 360-view tour of the flight deck controls of an Emirates A380, the world’s largest commercial aircraft.

Emirates operates one of the youngest fleets in the industry with an average age of 5.6 years. Over 4,000 pilots from nearly 100 nationalities fly the Emirates fleet of 250 all wide-body aircraft that serve 155 destinations across 81 countries. - TradeArabia News Service
