Mubadala Development Company, the Abu Dhabi-based investment and development company, is set to showcase its growing aerospace capabilities at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow, one of the largest international aviation events, to be held in UK.

This year marks the 50th edition of the Airshow which will be held from July 11 to 17 in Farnborough.

Mubadala will be attending the event alongside assets from its aerospace and engineering services portfolio, including Piaggio Aerospace, Sanad Aero Solutions and Strata Manufacturing.

Homaid Al Shimmari, the chief executive of Aerospace and Engineering Services at Mubadala, said: "We are proud to attend the Farnborough  International Airshow, one of the leading global aviation events, with our partners and showcase the growing aerospace capabilities in Abu Dhabi, where around 10,000 jobs are expected to be created between now and 2030 in that sector alone."

"The landmark edition of the airshow provides valuable opportunities to highlight our incredible growth in developing an aerospace hub in Abu Dhabi with key customers and stakeholders," stated Al Shimmari.

In line with the Abu Dhabi government’s vision of a diversified economy, Mubadala is dedicated to establishing an aerospace hub in Abu Dhabi.

Nibras Al Ain Aerospace Park, the joint venture between Mubadala and Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac), is the key catalyst driving the establishment of a world class aerospace centre in the emirate.

"The development will be an industrial platform for manufacturing and maintenance facilities, education and training institutions and research and development facilities," he added.

A key player in the global aerospace industry, Mubadala works with its partners to develop a range of services to meet the needs of customers across the entire supply chain, including manufacturing; maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and leasing solutions.-TradeArabia News Service
