Bahrain targets $2.6bn revenue from tourism

MANAMA, July 14, 2016

Bahrain is aiming to earn BD1 billion ($2.6 billion) per year from tourism by 2020, it was revealed. The estimate revenue for last year was BD600 million ($1.5 billion), which means almost doubling the income in the next four years, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Tourism's postive impact on employment is also significat as the sector accounts for over 40,000 jobs, it said.
