Life-size ‘Snakes and Ladders’ board game at City Centre Bahrain

City Centre Bahrain, a leading shopping, leisure and entertainment destination in the kingdom, is bringing to life the largest version of the popular ‘Snakes and Ladders’ board game.

For the first time-ever, a Bahraini version will be featured, for the delight of the young and young-at-heart, from August 1st to 31st, 2016.

City Centre Bahrain’s version of the worldwide classic board game ‘Snakes and Ladders’ awaits friends and families with a twist: the game will feature Bahrain’s history through iconic miniature landmarks of the Kingdom. Players will be able to educated about Bahrain, all while enjoying the thrill and competition of the game and the chance to win exciting prizes.

To participate, visitors simply have to spend BD30 in shopping, dining, or entertainment at City Centre Bahrain and present their receipts to the lifestyle destination’s Customer Service desks, to receive a participation coupon. Players will get a chance to win exciting prizes from the participating retailers in addition to the weekly prizes of BD 1,000 worth in gift cards.

City Centre Bahrain’s version, will host up to four players and feature a numbered path, allowing participants to discover and learn about the kingdom’s history through its iconic landmarks. Players will have fun navigating on an edutainment journey and by rolling the dice hoping to land on a ladder, which will offer a short-cut closer to the finish line, and avoiding the ‘snakes’ that will make them go backwards on the giant board. Players to reach the end will be rewarded with an exciting prize, while all players have a chance to win surprises along the way, provided by participating retailers.

This summer, City Centre Bahrain is introducing new spectacular entertainment for the whole family. Our very own life-size format of the world-famous board game ‘Snakes and Ladders’ will honour our Kingdom’s heritage while offering an edutainment experience to visitors” said Duaij Khalifa Al Rumaihi, senior mall manager for City Centre Bahrain.

“Participants will get the chance to contribute to our Charity initiative, with proceeds going directly to Bahrain Down Syndrome Society local humanitarian organisation, as part of Majid Al Futtaim’s core values to give back to communities,’ he added.

To add to the fun, famous radio jockey Ali Dawood will be hosting the game daily along with famous entertainers, such as Imran Al Aradi and Khaled Janahi, on weekends. Players will have a great time engaging with these renowned personalities throughout the game.

One of the game board’s blocks will be allocated for charity donations. Every time a player ‘falls’ on the allocated space, BD1 will be donated to Bahrain Down Syndrome Society – a charity organisation that provides support to health, psychology, education and social services to individuals with Down Syndrome in Bahrain. The total donations from the game will provide essential school supplies to children that have been diagnosed with Down Syndrome.

Social media fans will also be able to play and win through a special version of the game available on Facebook.

City Centre Bahrain’s ‘Snakes and Ladders’ will be located in the Central Galleria, from August 1 to 31, operating during regular malls hours: from 10am to 10pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 12am on weekends. - TradeArabia News Service
