Turkish Airlines posts Q2 loss of $224
ISTANBUL, August 20, 2016
Turkish Airlines suffered a loss of 656 million lira ($224.02 million) in the second quarter, having posted a net profit of 661 million lira in the same period a year earlier.
Its sales in the second quarter rose to 7.1 billion lira from 6.8 billion lira in the same period of 2015, it said in a filing to the Istanbul stock exchange.
The flag carrier revised its year-end target to 63.4 million passengers down from 72.4 million.
It announced a target load factor, which measures an airline's capacity utilisation, of 72-74 percent. In 2015 its load factor was 78 percent. -Reuters
