Ajman Tourism organises city tour for university students

AJMAN, September 1, 2016

The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) has organised city sightseeing tours for students of Ajman University in a bid to educate them about the emirate's famous tourist spots and increase awareness of local tourism.

The two-day tour coincides with the opening of the new academic year and a total of 400 students visited the emirate’s main popular attractions and heritage landmarks on board Ajman’s city sightseeing tour buses. The students were divided into two groups and tours were conducted in the morning and in the afternoon.

ATDD provided specialised tour guides to offer insights about each landmark. Some of the places visited by the students are the Al Zorah project, Ajman Museum, the traditional fish market, Ajman Corniche and other popular tourist attractions.

Faisal Al Nuaimi, general manager of ATDD said: “As we start the new academic year, it is vital that our students learn about the emirate’s main popular attractions. Our objective is to encourage the students to promote tourism and contribute to the emirate’s sustainable development. Letting the students discover the beauty of Ajman is part of our vision for Ajman 2021 to create a happy society that is involved in building our country and this should start in the academic level.” - TradeArabia News Service
