Mandarin Oriental plans 2017 debut in the GCC

DUBAI, November 2, 2016

Hospitality giant Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group continues to expand its presence around the world, with plans to open a new property in Doha, Qatar, next year.

During a media lunch held today in Dubai, the group confirmed plans for its first property in the GCC as well as other openings around the world.

Currently operating 29 hotels and eight residences in 19 countries and territories, Mandarin Oriental’s aim is to be recognised widely as the best global luxury hotel group, providing 21st century luxury with oriental charm in each of its hotels.

The latest properties to join the portfolio are Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech and Mandarin Oriental, Milan, with each property reflecting the Group’s oriental heritage and unique sense of place, the gorup said.

Other properties, which have long been a part of the group's portfolio, will also be getting a new look, as renovations on London's property begins, which will soon be followed by its landmark Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong.

The hotel group has long been renowned for its excellent and innovative restaurants and bars, collectively having 12 Michelin-star restaurants, which is more than any other hotel chain around the globe.
