Abu Dhabi Airport welcomes over 20m passengers till Oct

ABU DHABI, November 22, 2016

More than 20 million passengers have travelled through Abu Dhabi International Airport till October 31 this year, up 5.4 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The total number of travellers between January 1 and October 31 reached 20,432,279 compared to 19,393,074 for the same period in 2015.

In October this year, the airport welcomed 1.9 million passengers, according to a press release. London, Bangkok and Bombay were the top three passenger destinations for October.

Passenger traffic to and from Bombay, India, saw a 19 per cent increase from 52,604 passengers in October 2015, totaling 62,415 for the same month this year.

The number of passengers travelling to Doha from Abu Dhabi increased by 8 per cent from 55,209 in October last year, to 59,535 in October this year.

Total aircraft movements dipped 0.7 per cent in the fist 10 months of the year, dropping from 144,272 in October 2015 to 143,310 in October this year. Cargo numbers also declined by 4 per cent, from 690,196 in October last year to 662,549 this October. - TradeArabia News Service
