Salalah Rotana Resort welcomes 200,000 guests in 2016

Salalah Rotana Resort, Oman's largest free-standing five-star hotel, achieved successful performance in 2016, welcoming 200,000 guests to its 400-key waterfront resort.

Serving Oman’s ever growing tourism market, Salalah Rotana Resort’s guest arrivals grew 20 per cent year on year compared to 2015. The resort attributes this growth to its strategic partnership deals with major regional and international tour operators. Its effort complements the government’s laudable action to place Oman on the global tourism map by promoting it as a preferred travel destination.

The resort welcomed an astounding number of guests from Europe with Germany at as the main feeder market closely followed by Italy, Poland and Slovakia. While the monsoon season, locally called Khareef with its rains and cooler climate continues to act as a key driver for tourism to Salalah by attracting residents of neighbouring countries from July to September yearly.

Hossam Kamal, general manager of Salalah Rotana Resort, said: “2016 was a game changer as it was our best performing year, yet. We witnessed and increase in guest arrival to the resort and anticipate the same trend throughout 2017."
