DUBAI, March 23, 2017

Dubai Parks and Resorts, the region’s largest theme park destination, will join the global Earth Hour movement by turning off lights in certain areas.

The power shut down will affect the exterior of the Raj Mahal theatre, the Hall of Heroes façade, the destination’s front gates and entrances, sky tracker lights, the Zombieland Blast Off tower and the DreamWorks zone façade, it said.

Furthermore, in celebration of this worldwide movement, the Entertainment destination will take part in “The Earth Hour Walk” event organized by Dewa on March 25 between 3pm and 10pm.  Dubai Parks and Resorts will have a dedicated stand at the event to engage participants.

To encourage participants of ‘The Earth Hour Walk’ to be held at Business Bay, Dubai Parks and Resorts has also created three special ‘Earth Hour’ offers.  Attendees simply collect a flyer and present it at Dubai Parks and Resorts between March 25 and June 22 to receive the offers which include:

In addition, Dubai Parks and Resorts will offer “The Earth Hour Walk” event attendees the opportunity to “Experience Amazing” through special interactions with some of the most beloved characters from Motiongate Dubai and Legoland Dubai who will be present throughout the event.  Attendees will also get a chance to watch brief performances by Dubai Parks and Resorts’ mesmerising musical shows - Jaan-E-Jigar, Step Up Dubai, All In! and Backlot Beat.

Stanford Pinto, chief parks operating officer at DXB Entertaiments, the company that owns Dubai Parks and Resorts, said: “Earth Hour is a global movement which we fully support. Dubai Parks and Resorts is the first theme park destination of its kind in the Middle East, and as pioneer in this industry it is very important for us to set a good example and join our fellow citizens around the world in protecting the environment we live in.

“Being part of this national event allows us to show our commitment to the planet and our local community while promoting amazing experiences and introducing what Dubai Parks and Resorts has to offer.  All the participants in the Earth Hour event will be rewarded with exclusive offers that they can redeem and enjoy at the destination,” he added. - TradeArabia News Service
