Bahrain hosts ‘2018 Cooperation Meeting’ with tourism entities

MANAMA, December 4, 2017

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) hosted a cooperation meeting with tourism-related entities to further discuss plans and means of collaboration for the upcoming year.

The meeting, held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, was headed by the chief executive officer of BTEA, Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa and the ‎director of Tourism Marketing and Promotions at BTEA, Yousef Al Khan and included representatives from the hotels, travel agencies and other tourism-related companies.

“The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority aims to position itself as one of the main pillars of economic growth and social development in the kingdom by developing a comprehensive tourism strategy to enhance the local tourism product at the regional and global levels. It also aims to further position the tourism as a main contributor to the economy,” said Shaikh Khalid.

The meeting exchanged and discussed the different views and suggestions in relations to the future plans of the BTEA which will contribute to the advancement and progress of the local economy and tourism sector.

The 2018 Tourism Cooperation Meeting is part of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority's strategy to develop and enhance the tourism sector, which contributes to the achievement of the kingdom's Economic Vision 2030. - TradeArabia News Service
