The Ryokan Collection to launch new Japanese tourism project

CANNES, December 31, 2017

The Ryokan Collection is pleased to announce the launch of a collaborative project, “Doors to Japan’s Quintessence” in the first quarter of 2018.

Consisting of a series of bespoke travel experiences co-produced by Japan Airlines, Mitsukoshi Isetan Group and The Ryokan Collection, the project aims to open otherwise inaccessible experiences for visitors to discover new and fascinating facets of Japan.

The “Doors to Japan’s Quintessence” project was created to introduce a new layer of bespoke experiences to attract wealthy travellers, as well as develop regional destinations in Japan for the international luxury travel market. Through a series of exclusive model itineraries in various regions of Japan, the project introduces sophisticated products and Japan’s leading local artisans, food producers and craftsmen, as well as ryokan, or traditional inns, affiliated with the three companies.

This project aims to develop luxury tourism in regional areas of Japan and contribute to the development of local industries and traditions by curating and introducing hidden gems in various regions in Japan.

Participants in the program will not only experience the unique essence of each local region but will also be able to discover their own way to truly fulfil their journey–through the bonds shared with people they encounter, the natural world that fascinates them and the experiences that fulfil them.

As an initiating project, selected travel agencies were invited for familiarisation trips to introduce the first model itinerary, with a primary focus on Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, in November. – TradeArabia News Service
