Bahrain Airport Services Company (BAS) said it has signed an aircraft line maintenance services  agreement with Southern Airline, one of the world's leading providers of air cargo and aviation logistics services.

The agreement provides aircraft line maintenance services for about 12 weekly flights on Boeing 777s, said the Bahraini company in a statement.

On the maintenance deal, CEO Salman Al Mahmeed said: "BAS has been proud to provide aircraft line maintenance services for over 40 years, through a team of internationally-qualified professionals."

"The signing of agreements of this type with international companies is a result of the confidence enjoyed by the company in the region," he added.

BAS has been the official operator of ground services at Bahrain International Airport since its establishment in 1977.

A trusted name in the world of services, BAS offers a number of commercial activities including: aircraft and passenger handling services, catering services and aircraft engineering services besides running its engineering training centre, as well as owning and managing airport lounges.

BAS is a company certified by the Air Transport Safety Audit Program of the International Air Transport Association.-TradeArabia News Service
