Bahrain targets new markets at ATM Dubai

DUBAI, April 23, 2018

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) is participating in the 25th edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) being held in Dubai.

The delegation from Bahrain, headed by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, includes BTEA officials, representatives from the Bahrain Economic Development Board, the national carrier Gulf Air along with a number of leading hotels and travel agents.

“BTEA's participation in this prestigious exhibition comes in line with its strategy to develop the kingdom’s tourism sector, further strengthening its position as a regional and international tourist destination by promoting its tourism and commercial offering,” said Al Zayani.

“The kingdom’s tourism sector is one of the key investment sectors, contributing 6.8 per cent to the country’s GDP, and is set to grow significantly,” he added.

Further commenting on the event, the chief executive officer of BTEA, Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, said: “The Arabian Travel Market provides us with an opportunity to meet with major companies operating in the tourism sector to discuss the latest developments.”

“Through our participation in the event, we aim to promote Bahrain as a tourist destination on a regional level and open links to new markets, while marketing the kingdom’s unique attractions to international participants,” he added.

ATM is the world’s leading travel industry event in the Middle East that showcases the latest trends in the travel industry. The exhibition is a unique platform that offers a series of seminars and ministerial meetings and will be addressing many aspects of the travel industry.

ATM will be running until April 25 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). - TradeArabia News Service
