Spanish hotel chain to open Dubai property next month

DUBAI, August 13, 2018

Spanish-based Barceló Hotel Group is set to open a new hotel in Dubai Production City (IMPZ) this September, a report said.

Occidental IMPZ Dubai, Conference and Events Centre will be the group's frist Occidental property in the emirate and will focus on creating stays that are tranquil, comfortable and stress-free. The hotel will be located within close proximity to the Expo 2020 landmark and 30 minutes away from the Dubai airports, a report in Condé Nast Traveller said.

Comprising 239 rooms across two adjacent, connected buildings, the contemporary hotel targets business travellers with its meeting rooms, each equipped with cutting-edge technology and smart automation and TVs, a ballroom and conference areas with projectors and screens.

The hotel will also feature two expansive swimming pools, a modern fitness centre and spa services, the report said.

Guests will have a varied choice of food outlets to select from as the hotel brings six new restaurants, a Sports Bar, coffee shop, two snack bars and a lounge bar.

The new property is just one of eight new ventures the group has in the pipeline for the UAE. Barceló Hotel Group currently operates two hotels in the region - Barceló Residences Dubai Marina and Occidental Sharjah Grand - and is set to open a Dubai property, Barceló Al Jadaf in June 2019, it said.
