Gulf Air scraps move to cut Bahraini staff

MANAMA, November 1, 2018

Gulf Air’s Board of Directors has issued a directive to retract redundancies within Bahraini staff and to allow them to return to work.

At an urgent meeting held today, the board discussed the airline's restructuring initiative which affected a number of Bahraini staff and studied a number of options to maintain the workforce’s rights at Gulf Air.

This is in line with the airline’s continuous mission to support and invest in Bahrainis as valuable human resource assets, said a Gulf Air statement.

The board's directive also included the need to study the organisational structure of the airline, benchmarking it to international airline standards.

The board of directors confirmed that the 2018 and beyond strategy is being implemented to continuously enhance the products and services of Gulf Air, expand the fleet and network as well as to carry out sound restructuring to increase operational efficiency without jeopardising the level and quality of services provided to Gulf Air passengers, it said. - TradeArabia News Service
