New Indian cruise line to call on Oman, UAE this winter

MUMBAI, January 21, 2019

India-based Zen Cruises has announced the launch of its first multi-destination cruise line, Jalesh Cruises, which will set sail in April and include calls on Oman and UAE as part of its winter schedule in December this year, said a report.

The new cruise company is part of Indian conglomerate company Essel Group, headed by Dr Subhash Chandra, said a report in Economic Times.

Jalesh, or 'God of Waters', offer on shore destinations and excursions across Indian port cities including Chennai, Kochi, Mormugoa, Mumbai, Vizag and international locations including Abu Dhabi, Colombo, Dubai, Muscat, Penang, Ras Al Khaimah and Singapore.

Onboard, the multi-destination cruise line will offer entertainment shows, adventure activities and exotic authentic cuisines packed with international hospitality on the high sea, the report said.

The cruise is designed and customised especially for the Indian audience and also for the foreigners visiting India to experience the flavour of Indian culture, food & hospitality, it said.

The first ship under the brand - Karnika - will sail from Mumbai in April 2019, following the traditional naming ceremony of the 2,000 passenger vessel, it said.
