Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa emerged a big winner at Horeca Kuwait, the biggest hospitality and food industries event in the country, earning the most number of awards in the competition.

The competition, which took place at the Kuwait International Fairground from January 14-16, involved a variety of categories related to cuisine and housekeeping, in order to display the vast variety of talent in Kuwait. 

Chefs competed and won in various categories including pasta, mystery box, burger making, sandwiches, cold and hot oriental appetizers. Appetizers included croissants, and éclair, whereas desserts involved a three plated presentation and a themed celebration cake.

Furthermore, there was a sushi competition, hot and cold sandwich competition, and jack creek perfect steak challenge. To top it all off, the housekeeping competition involved competing in bed making.

Jumeirah Messilah Beach won a total of 31 awards at the Horeca Exhibition. One gold award was won at the Hot/Cold mezze live competition, and 10 silver awards were won in the fresh pasta, best burger, Asian cuisine, mystery basket, best croissant – zaatar/ thyme, hot/cold sandwiches, and best eclair competitions alongside the Jack creek steak challenge. A total of 16 bronze awards were won in the three plated dessert presentation, canape, bread creation, Asian cuisine, Mystery Basket, hot/cold sandwich, best éclair, sushi and themed cake categories.

The resort also won merit in the three plated dessert presentation, and best burger competitions, alongside the Jack creek steak challenge, and the six-course set menu competition. Lastly, two hygiene awards were also received.
