Mirco Iada has been appointed as the general manager of The Canvas Hotel Dubai MGallery by Sofitel, located in Bur Dubai.

A Swiss hospitality expert, Iada was entrusted with the task of spearheading the re-branding of the five-star property in July 2018 by AccorHotels. Since then, he has ensured all stages of the programme are being executed seamlessly.

Iada brings more than two decades of experience to his current role. Prior to this appointment, he was the director of operations of the 468-key Pullman Doha West Bay, where his responsibilities included implementing the SOP and OPS of the brand, alongside recruiting the right talent for the hotel.

Iada began his hospitality career in Switzerland and has held various F&B and front office positions. He joined AccorHotels in 2000 as the Deputy General Manager of the Novotel Geneva Centre in Geneva, Switzerland. He later took on the mantle of General Manager at the four-star deluxe hotel and has subsequently worked with four brands under AccorHotels’ prestigious portfolio.

He moved to the Middle East in 2012 joining Novotel Dubai Al Barsha as its hotel director, in the pre-opening phase. During his tenure there, he was instrumental in the successful opening and operations of the property. Following this stint, he took up the position of director of operations of the five-star luxury hotel Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, where he was in charge of the daily operations to deliver a superior guest experience and maximise profitability. He was also responsible for driving proactive sales and marketing initiatives.

We’re currently revamping the hotel using a phased approach to deliver maximum guest comfort. Several physical and aesthetic changes will be visible in the property over the next few months, reflecting the AccorHotels brand. We look forward to a successful 2019,” commented Iada.

The Canvas Hotel Dubai MGallery by Sofitel is a 164-key hotel, ideal for leisure and business travellers due to its proximity to Dubai International Airport, Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Mall and other popular attractions such as the Creek, Gold Souk, La Mer and Al Seef. - TradeArabia News Service
