OTC named Gold Sponsor at 14th Food & Hospitality Oman

MUSCAT, July 15, 2019

Oman Tourism College (OTC) has announced its support as Gold Sponsor at Oman’s leading food and hospitality show, Food & Hospitality Oman (FHO).

The FHO is an annual international exhibition that not only focuses on Oman’s food and hospitality industry but also promotes industry interactions and networking.

The three-day event, accompanied by the Food Safety Oman Conference, will be held from October 14-16 and is recognised as the benchmark for food and hospitality exhibitions in the sultanate.

FHO features more than 400 brands as exhibitors from 20 countries worldwide, offering OTC a platform to exhibit its proficiency within hospitality academia. Holding the accolade of the only college in Oman that is fully specialised in tourism and hospitality, OTC will serve as one of the main sponsors of the event in a bid to showcase to and engage local, regional and global industry professionals and enthusiasts.

Asim Al Maimani, head of department of Hospitality Studies, OTC, said: “With our participation at the FHO, our aim is to expand awareness of our varied offerings within the hospitality sector to encourage more participants to realise their dreams and aspirations within the industry. As Oman’s only specialised college for tourism, it is also essential for us to stay on trend with industry protocols and practises,” he added.

“The event is a prodigious platform because it supports interaction with professionals worldwide who are active in their respective fields, and an ideal initiative that provides our students the chance to get valuable information on latest developments in the tourism and hospitality industry locally and globally.”

OTC strives to prepare the youth to be an integral part of the sultanate’s vision in a diversified economy with a strong focus on tourism and hospitality. In addition to the Diploma and BSc programmes the college offers, the Training & Professional Development Unit at OTC offers vocational and short courses such as culinary, food & safety, waiter, front-desk, customer service, along with etiquette & protocol amongst others. The College also provides auxiliary management services by providing catering and rental facilities, and consultation options on menu creation for F&B businesses. - TradeArabia News Service
