OxfordSaudia receives first batch of training aircraft

DAMMAM, July 24, 2019

OxfordSaudia, the new flight academy established by Saudi National Company of Aviation (SNCA) at King Fahad International Airport in Dammam, has received the first batch of Diamond Aircraft for its training centre, said a report.

The delivery is part of an order for 60 Diamond Aircraft twin DA42-VI and single DA40 NG, which will be completed over a five-year period, said a report in Saudi Gazette.

The planes were received by Captain Lawrence Wed, CEO of Oxford Aviation Academy, along with academy trainees and officials of King Fahd International Airport.

“Receiving this batch of aircraft is part of the schedule for handing over and checking the planes, under the supervision of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), which is participating with us in conducting the necessary tests on these aircraft before allowing them to fly to the kingdom. The arrival of 12 aircraft will be completed by the end of next month,” Oxford Aviation Academy chief Capt. Othman Al-Mutairi was quoted as saying by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Drawing upon over 75 years of pilot training expertise, OxfordSaudia's training programmes provide focused ab initio training to aspiring pilots across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. Its unique CPL programme starts with a foundation year followed by a premier ground school course with high-quality flying instruction delivered in accordance with GACA requirements. - TradeArabia News Service
