Kuwait budget carrier Jazeera launches flights to Al Ain

ABU DHABI, December 14, 2019

Kuwait's leading low-cost airline Jazeera Airways has begun its thrice-a-week service to the Al Ain International Airport in the UAE. 
It will operate Airbus A320 and the latest A320neo aircraft on the new route, with each aircraft offering 150 economy seats and 12-business class seat with a total of 162 seats.
Abu Dhabi Airports officials welcomed the inaugural Jazeera flight coming from Kuwait International Airport (KWI) yesterday (December 13) in style at the Al Ain International Airport (AAN).
It was received by Sheikh Saeed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan at a grand ceremony held in the presence of Bryan Thompson, the Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports and Marwan Boodai, the Chairman of Jazeera Airways, in addition to delegates from both sides.
Jazeera will be operating three weekly flights (Mondays, Fridays and Sundays) from Kuwait City to the AAN. The flight J9-139 will take off from Kuwait Airport at 12.05pm and land in Al Ain Airport at 2.40pm, while on return, J9-140 will depart Al Ain Airport at 3.25pm and arrive in Kuwait at 4.05pm. 
Welcoming the flight, Abu Dhabi Airports Chief Commercial Officer Maarten De Groof, said: "We are delighted that Jazeera Airways has chosen to launch a new route from Kuwait to Al Ain as part of its rapid expansion plans in the region. This route will unlock more choices for passengers travelling between Kuwait City and the growing airport of Al Ain."
"The GCC has always been one of our largest and most significant markets and Jazeera Airways’ new route will further expand Al Ain International Airport’s connectivity in the region that will truly benefit consumers," stated De Groof.
“We look forward to building on our existing route portfolio across the Middle East and reinforcing Al Ain International Airport’s position as a major gateway to Abu Dhabi that facilitates sustainable economic growth for the emirate,” he added.
Andrew Ward, VP (Marketing and Customer Experience) at Jazeera Airways said: "Following the opening of our dedicated Terminal 5 at KWI last year, we have been looking to expand within the strategically important and lucrative market of the Gulf region."
