Abu Dhabi announces new rules for visitors

ABU DHABI, January 18, 2021

Following the opening of its borders foreign visitors, Abu Dhabi has announced new regulations - including cutting the quarantine time on arrival.
 
Those arriving from ‘green’ countries will be required to take a PCR test on arrival and on day 6, without the need to quarantine, said a report in WAM
 
Those arriving from other countries, must take a PCR test on arrival, quarantine for 10 days & take PCR test on day eight. it said.
 
Quarantine for those who have been in contact with a positive case has been reduced to 10 days, provided a PCR test is taken on day eight with a negative result.
 
The 'green' list countries will be updated every two weeks and currently includes:
 
• Bahrain
• Brunei
• China
• Hong Kong (SAR)
• Isle of Man
• Kuwait
• Macao (SAR)
• Mauritius
• Mongolia
• New Caledonia
• New Zealand
• Oman
• Qatar
• Sao Tome and Principe
• Saudi Arabia
• St. Kitts and Nevis
• Taipei
• Thailand
 
Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee and Department of Health has also approved screening protocols in the UAE capital for those vaccinated as part of the national vaccination programmes and volunteers in clinical trials of Covid-19 vaccines, effective January 17.
 
The active icons on Alhosn app for the volunteers (gold star) and those vaccinated (E) appear after a PCR test is taken after all doses required by the trial or after 28 days from the second dose respectively.
