Bahrain Airport Services announces renewal of ISO surveillance audit

MANAMA, May 28, 2022

Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) announced the renewal of its ISO/IEC 27001:2013 surveillance audit, the international standard outlining best practices for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).

The accreditation assessment was conducted by TÜV PROFiCERT, TUV Hessen, with the support of Global Business Bureau, UAE.

In renewing the ISO 27001 certification, the ICT team at BAS has showcased its ability to protect the company’s information from falling into unauthorised hands, ensuring that the information is accurate, and assessed from any possible risks by mitigating the impact of any possible breaches.

The certification confirms that BAS has also been independently assessed on par with international standards based on industry best practices.

Having received several ISO accreditations in various categories and services, BAS was first accredited in December 2016, upon fulfilling all ISO 27001:2013 standard requirements by the TUV InterCERT certification body, and remained accredited with annual surveillance audits.

The current certification accreditation was issued by TUV Hessen, and shall be valid up to June 2023.

On the key certification, CEO Mohamed Khalil said: "It gives us pleasure to renew our international ISO 27001 certification for the 5th consecutive year. BAS received the certification as a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our employees and our ICT team."

BAS has a 43-year long track record of continuous service and has been the sole operator of ground handling services at the Bahrain International Airport since its establishment in 1977.

"The accreditation recognises the company’s up-to-date security information and infrastructure, and comes as a testament to our commitment to meet global industry standards for best practices," he noted.

"The ISO 27001 certification is a globally recognised international standard for managing risks to the security of information held by organisations covering people, processes and technology," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
