Dow in the Middle East recently showcased the company’s diverse plastic pipes portfolio, including Dowlex PE-RT, a class of polyethylene for pipe applications for elevated temperatures, at the Middle East Plastic Pipes conference.

Detlef Schramm, application technology leader for pipe and geomembrane, Dow Europe GmbH represented the company at the plastic and pipe conference which hosted 150 of the leading regional and international pipe producers and installers.
Schramm gave a comprehensive and insightful presentation on polyethylene of raised temperature resistance and the advantages and application usage of this product by showcasing its strong performance reviews and results at the event.
Commenting on the occasion, Zuhair Allawi, commercial director, India, Middle East & Africa (IMEA) region, said, “DOWLEX PE-RT (Polyethylene of Raised Temperature Resistance) resins have, internationally, a proven track record of more than twenty five years for delivering outstanding performance in pipe applications.'
He pointed out that more than 1 million km of pipes have now been produced using Dowlex PE-RT resins.
“Consumption for pipe and conduit applications is projected to grow at 9.1 per cent per year between 2006 and 2011 in the Middle East. We, at Dow, are therefore committed to supplying and supporting the needs of the pipe industry in the Middle East,” he explained.
PE-RT resins is a highly innovative application and can be found in many pipe structures, including multi-layer and monolithic pipes, which are set to transform the hot and cold water pipe market.
Dowlex PE-RT resins from Dow are most suitable for diverse applications such as floor heating, drinking water distribution, industrial pipes, solar panels, snow melting systems and many more.
The resins have an environmentally-friendly stabilization package and are compliant with most drinking water regulations worldwide, Schramm added.-TradeArabia News Service
