The Australian Snaps Kakadu Club, the touring puppet show, is being featured at the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2009, a shopping and family entertainment show, for the first time ever.

Over the past 15 years, the puppetry show has touched various places including the UK, Thailand, Singapore, and New Zealand, to name a few.

The show features the puppet characters Snap, Fluffi and Snipper who come together after meeting in Kakadu National Park (a famous park in Australia). Snap is a little cheeky crocodile from the London zoo and speaks with a Yorkshire accent while Fluffi is the French cat and Snipper is the Canadian Golden Retriever.

Snaps Kakadu Club founder Lindi Jane created an amazing story line and infused her own song compositions to the show. This puppet show focuses on key messages that teach children on how to be kind, how to stay happy and to accept that every one is different.

Snaps Kakadu Club also promotes environmental conservation by highlighting the need to protect trees.

Lindi Jane established herself as a cross-arts creative artist appearing on national television and touring the world with the self-created puppet team, the Snaps Kakadu Club.

She started her fascination for puppets when she was only four years old. Diagnosed with a weak heart, constantly in and out of hospitals, her grandfather introduced her to puppetry.

Encouraged by her nurses who advised that puppets were good for therapy, Lindi Jane ended up learning the art of ventriloquism (the art or practice of speaking with little or no lip movement) on her own and started performing around the hospital and when well enough, performed at schools, festivals and community shows.

Lindi Jane’s passion led her to various places, earned her awards and recognition, and taught her to speak in nine different voices and numerous language accents, in addition to acquiring 20 puppets as her personal collection.

Aside from the world of puppetry, Lindi Jane is also a talented comedian, singer and voice-over artist.
