Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, had its MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) capabilities highlighted at the recent MRO Middle East Conference and Exhibition in Dubai.
Gulf Air was invited to deliver the key note address at this major forum, where Jamal Hashim, Gulf Air director engineering, gave the opening speech.
Hashim highlighted the national carrier’s 61 years’ experience as an airline operator and an MRO service provider, the Middle East region’s growing importance as the potential hub for global MRO industry due to its several strategic and commercial advantages, and the opportunities and challenges in the aviation MRO industry.
He also called for greater synergy and cooperation among the region’s airlines to take advantage of the booming MRO opportunities.
