Bahrain to host KPMG MESA summit in November

Bahrain will be hosting the annual KPMG Middle East & South Asia (MESA) Partners Conference, which also coincides with KPMG’s 50th anniversary celebrations in the Kingdom.

The MESA Partners Conference will take place on November 7 – 8, which includes a public reception on November 6 to mark the anniversary event. The conference will include a visit by Bill Thomas, chairman of KPMG International, which will serve as his first visit to Bahrain.

Managing partner at KPMG in Bahrain Jamal Fakhro emphasized the importance of the MESA partners’ conference in KPMG’s calendar, which is expected is to bring together over one hundred partners from KPMG member firms in 20 countries.

“My heartiest congratulations to Jamal Fakhro and the KPMG in Bahrain Partners and their teams on this 50th anniversary milestone. KPMG in Bahrain has a lot to be proud of, including the fantastic reputation they have established in the region and the trust they have earned of both clients and community members in their marketplace,” said Thomas.

“I am excited to be travelling to Bahrain in November to celebrate this occasion, and look forward to the chance to meet clients and colleagues in one of the world’s most dynamic economies,” he added.

“I am extremely pleased for our firm to be the host for this year’s MESA Partners’ Conference in conjunction with our celebrations to mark our presence in the Kingdom of Bahrain for half a century. Since our inception in 1968, facilitating the business success of our clients has been our passion and commitment. I believe the two-day event will be the ideal platform to discuss innovative approaches to continue to drive growth for our clients, in the light of significant technological advancements and disruption in the marketplace,” Jamal Fakhro commented.

Thomas became chairman in 2017, and previously served as chairman of KPMG’s Americas region from 2014-2017 and has been a member of the Global Board since 2009. He has been a leader in defining KPMG’s global strategy and a champion in promoting an inclusive and high-performing culture throughout the KPMG network.

Several members of KPMG’s global and regional leadership team will also attend the conference to discuss regional strategy, industry developments and the future direction of the member firms in the region. – TradeArabia News Service
