The Ministry of Culture announced the inauguration of the tourist guides cooperative society centre in Historic Jeddah, located next to Bab Al-Madina.
The initiative reflects the ministry’s efforts to enhance the visitor
experience, empower Saudi tour guides, and strengthen cultural and tourism
activities in the UNESCO-listed heritage area, reported SPA.
The center’s inauguration follows ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of
Culture and the Tour Guides Cooperative, formalised through a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) signed during the World Travel Market 2025 in London.
The initiative aims to enhance the quality of tours within the area and
strengthen the role of guides in delivering cultural content that highlights
the authenticity of Historic Jeddah and the diversity of its sites.
The centre is the first of its kind to be fully managed by tour guides and
offers a range of certified tours that provide visitors with the opportunity to
explore Jeddah’s history and its role as the gateway to Makkah.
