Saudi Arabia partners with Vertical Aerospace to advance air mobility

Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UK-based Vertical Aerospace to support the development of the Kingdom's advanced air mobility (AAM) sector.

The agreement, signed during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 in the United Kingdom in the presence of GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, aims to establish the regulatory and operational framework needed for next-generation aviation.

The MoU supports the Kingdom's Advanced Air Mobility Roadmap by promoting collaboration on certification, approvals and the exchange of technical expertise with leading international aviation authorities.

It also reinforces GACA's commitment to creating a flexible regulatory environment that encourages the adoption of innovative, environmentally friendly aircraft technologies.

The initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Aviation Program's goal of positioning the Kingdom as a global logistics hub.

Separately, Cluster2 Airports Company signed an MoU with Vertical Aerospace to develop infrastructure solutions for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. -TradeArabia News Service
