AES Engineering expands Mideast presence with Technomax acquisition

AES Engineering has strengthened its presence in the Middle East reliability sector by acquiring a controlling stake in Technomax Middle East Engineering and Technomax Industrial Services, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The two companies will operate under AVT Reliability Middle East and North Africa, a recently established UAE company within the AES Group.

The acquisition marks the latest step in AES Engineering’s global expansion strategy, following previous investments in the Netherlands, Canada, Australia and the US.

Technomax provides monitoring services across key industrial sectors, including oil and gas, power generation, municipal water and desalination.

The company specialises in machinery, foundation and structural reliability solutions, as well as crane monitoring services.

With long-term contracts across the Middle East’s onshore and offshore industrial markets, Technomax supports customers in improving plant reliability and optimising thousands of rotating machinery assets.

The acquisition will enable Technomax customers to access AES Engineering’s broader range of reliability solutions, including Machine Sentry, a cloud-based condition monitoring platform, and EasyBrace, a structural vibration reduction system for small bore piping.

AES said the deal further enhances its ability to deliver advanced reliability services and digital solutions to industrial operators across the Middle East and North Africa.

Shebeaun Sherief, Founder and Managing Director, said: “When considering the next chapter for Technomax, it was important for me to find a partner who shared our values, our commitment to customers and our long-term vision. Choosing AES Engineering Ltd was therefore a natural decision. This partnership enables us to better support our customers by combining our local experience with the global expertise, talented people, innovative products and engineering solutions of the AVT and AES Group, while positioning the business for continued growth across both our existing and new markets.”

Chris Rea, AES Engineering Group Managing Director, said: “The acquisition of Technomax supports our strategic decision to globalise our reliability focused businesses and further strengthens our customer reliability offering in the important Middle East market.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
