The King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) has launched specialised online training programmes in history and historical sources through its online training platform on FutureX. 

The programmes aim to enhance access to historical knowledge, build research capabilities, and enable researchers, students, and interested individuals to work with historical sources in accordance with sound scientific and methodological principles, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said.

Self-paced activities

The programmes combine academic content with practical applications, self-paced activities, online assessments, and supplementary resources tailored to each field.

These programmes came as part of Darah’s efforts to provide training in historical information and materials, facilitate access to its sources, develop specialised knowledge programmes, and encourage and support researchers. 

They also align with Darah’s strategic objectives of reinforcing its pivotal role in preserving the history and heritage of Saudi Arabia and the Arab and Islamic worlds, enhancing access to historical knowledge, building capabilities to make effective use of its sources and collections, and contributing to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.—TradeArabia News Service
