SHARJAH
Mleiha National Park to host Saturn stargazing experience

Mleiha National Park will host an astronomy experience on Oct. 4, 2026, offering families and stargazers an opportunity to observe Saturn during its annual opposition.

Held at Mleiha Eye from 6pm to 11pm, the five-hour event will combine astronomy education, telescope-led observation and desert stargazing. During opposition, Earth lies between the Sun and Saturn, making the planet appear brighter and more visible from Earth.

Visitors will be able to observe Saturn, its distinctive rings and moons through telescopes, while learning about planetary science and dark-sky observation.

The programme begins with registration at 6pm, followed by a Cosmic Walkthrough featuring astronomy activities from 6:15pm to 8pm. After a dinner break, a presentation on Saturn opposition will precede telescope observations and stargazing from 9:30pm.

The event is designed as an accessible, education-focused experience for all ages, combining scientific discovery with the tranquillity and panoramic desert setting of Mleiha National Park. -TradeArabia News Service
