MAIRE’s Nextchem, through nitrogen technology licensor Stamicarbon, has been selected to provide the technology package for SABIC Agri-Nutrients’ “SAN-7” large-scale fertiliser project in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
The package, valued at approximately €125 million
($144 million), includes technology licensing, process design
and proprietary equipment supply, using Stamicarbon’s NX STAMI Urea technology.
The grassroots facility will feature two urea
production units, each capable of producing 3,850 metric tonnes
per day.
The
project supports SABIC’s strategy to expand Saudi Arabia’s
fertiliser production and export capacity while contributing to
global food security and advancing the industrial
development objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Fabio Fritelli, Managing Director of Nextchem, commented:
"Nextchem’s selection confirms the strength of our proprietary NX STAMI™
Urea technology platform and the trust that leading players such as SABIC AN
place in our ability to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions at scale.
It further reflects the strong momentum that we are building in the fertilisers
segment, as also demonstrated by our recent awards, while reaffirming our
commitment to supporting customers with technologies that combine operational
efficiency, reliability and long-term competitiveness." -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
