KAFD expands hospitality offering with opening of 214-key Atheel Hotel

Atheel, KAFD Hotel has opened its doors in Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), introducing a new Saudi-operated luxury business hotel featuring 214 rooms and suites, multiple dining venues, wellness facilities and extensive meeting and event spaces.

Developed by King Abdullah Financial District Development and Management Company (KAFD DMC) and operated by Adeera Hospitality Company, the hotel is the first Saudi-operated property within the financial district. It aims to serve business travellers, local residents and international visitors, combining business accommodation with dining, leisure and social experiences.

The property also benefits from two direct connections to KAFD’s climate-controlled skywalk network, providing convenient access to the district’s business and commercial facilities.

Stefan Leser, Chief Executive Officer of Adeera Hospitality Company, said: “The opening of Atheel marks a significant milestone for Adeera as we welcome guests to the first hotel under our management. It brings our vision to life by delivering authentic Saudi hospitality at international standards, while creating meaningful opportunities for Saudi talent to help shape the future of the Kingdom’s hospitality sector through Atheel. We are proud to partner with KAFD in bringing this vision to reality.”

Atheel General Manager Emre Pasli said: “Riyadh is entering a new chapter of growth, and the opportunity is not simply to add more hotel rooms, but to create hotels with a clear sense of purpose. Atheel has been designed around the way people experience KAFD today, bringing business, dining and social life together within one destination. Our ambition is for the hotel to become an integral part of the district, serving its business community while creating a place where residents and visitors feel equally welcome. As KAFD’s first Saudi-operated hotel, we are proud to open our doors and introduce an experience that reflects the confidence, warmth and ambition of Riyadh today,”

Hotel design and accommodation

Designed by Foster + Partners, Atheel features a geometric exterior and contemporary interiors centred around a sculptural atrium that brings natural light into its public spaces.

Its 214 rooms and suites offer dedicated workspaces, modern technology and panoramic views of KAFD and the Riyadh skyline. The accommodation has been designed to cater to business travellers, extended stays and leisure guests.

Dining is a central part of the hotel's offering, with several restaurants and social venues catering to different occasions.

The signature contemporary Saudi restaurant showcases the Kingdom's regional cuisine through modern interpretations of traditional flavours. Riya Maison offers French Mediterranean cuisine, combining classic French techniques with contemporary influences.

Atheel Café provides an informal setting for coffee, light meals and meetings, while the Executive Lounge caters to executive guests. Cloud 14 features a rooftop swimming pool and lounge overlooking KAFD and the Riyadh skyline.

Wellness and business facilities

The hotel’s Atheel Wellness Hub offers fitness facilities, personalised treatments and relaxation spaces, complementing its accommodation and dining services.

For corporate and private events, the property features two main ballrooms and five meeting rooms named Thara, Diyar, Wadi, Twaiq and Athar. The facilities are designed to accommodate executive meetings, conferences, corporate gatherings and private celebrations.

The opening adds to KAFD’s hospitality offering as Riyadh continues to develop its business tourism and international visitor infrastructure.

With its combination of accommodation, dining, wellness and event facilities, Atheel aims to establish itself as a meeting point for the district’s business community while welcoming residents and visitors seeking a Saudi hospitality experience.-TradeArabia News Service
