Austria’s inflation rate rose by 0.4 percentage points to 3.2 per cent in August, with higher fuel and heating oil prices driving the increase, Statistics Austria said.
Manuela Lenk, Director-General of Statistics at Statistics
Austria, confirmed the preliminary estimate released earlier this month. She
said services continued to make a strong contribution to inflation, while food
prices declined from a year earlier.
Lenk said fuel and heating oil prices were key factors
behind the increase. Statistics Austria reported that fuel prices jumped 26.3
per cent compared with August 2025.
Transport remained a major inflation driver, although recent
record prices for diesel, heating oil and petrol were not yet reflected in
August’s figures. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
