OQ Refineries and Petroleum Industries (OQRPI) has signed two strategic commercial agreements with O Bunkering and Sanvira, covering the annual supply of 48 million litres of marine fuel and 450,000 tonnes of petroleum coke, respectively, strengthening Oman’s energy sector partnerships and supporting local content development.
The agreements were
signed during OQRPI’s 2026 Customer Engagement Forum, held under the theme
“Growing Together”, by Said Al Mahrouqi, Chief Commercial Officer of OQRPI, and
Eng. Sulaiman Ali Al Hadhrami, Chief Executive Officer of O Bunkering.
Under the first
agreement, OQRPI will sell and supply 48 million litres of marine fuel annually
to O Bunkering.
The deal aims to
support the growth of Oman’s marine bunkering market by enabling small and
medium enterprises (SMEs) to purchase fuel directly from OQRPI without
intermediaries, improving market competitiveness and creating greater
opportunities for local businesses.
The second agreement
with Sanvira covers the sale of OQRPI’s entire annual petroleum coke
production, amounting to 450,000 tonnes.
The arrangement is
intended to improve product management efficiency and strengthen commercial
cooperation between the companies.
Together, the
agreements are expected to expand OQRPI’s commercial partnerships, enhance
operational efficiency and increase SME participation in the energy value
chain, supporting Oman’s Local Content objectives and Oman Vision 2040.
Speaking at the forum,
Almuhallab Al Saidi, Vice President of Commercial Operations at OQRPI,
highlighted the importance of collaboration and shared efforts in driving
sustainable growth.
He said the theme
“Growing Together” reflects the company’s commitment to building partnerships
based on trust and knowledge sharing to support business development and
identify new opportunities. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
